Story
Myself and a group of Keswick parkrunners, the parkrun posse, will be taking on the 5in5 Challenge on Saturday 22nd June. Starting in Buttermere we will walk over High Snockrigg, Robinson, Dale Head, High Spy and Maiden Moor before finishing at the Swinside Inn, Newlands.
The walk is part of the Annual 10in10 & 5in5 Challange that was designed and created by Yvonne Booth in 2011. It was her response to her husband Duncan’s diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis in 2010 at the age of 39. As a wife and mother of three sons, she wanted to do something positive and help raise money for research into this cruel illness. Since then the event has raised much needed funds to continue the research into a cure for MS.
Duncan and Yvonne are both friends of mine from school and Duncan is also Keswick parkrun's turnaround marshall. He's there every week come rain or shine with a smile and encouraging words. Duncan and Yvonne are the reason that the parkrun posse will be out in force on 22nd June and we would be very grateful for any donation that you feel you can give to help find a cure for MS.
Thank you :)
