Story
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page!
We just got back from Tanzania - it was an amazing adventure! The climb has to be one of the hardest things we have ever done, but an incredible experience to walk up through the different ecological zones from rainforest up to bare rock and glaciers. Vanessa made it to the top but unfortunately with only about 500m to go Craig was suffering badly from altitude sickness and had to descend. In our final week away we visited the school we were raising money for, and received a very warm welcome for the staff and kids who are all very grateful for the money you have all donated!
We climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro (nearly 6000m high!) to raise money for Kiraracha Primary School, in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. The school is in desperate need of new classrooms to enable them to accept more children. We are aiming to raise £800 which will buy them half the cement they need to build 3 new classrooms. Each bag of 50kg costs £8 and they need 200 bags in total.
Please take a look at the photos from when Vanessa spent a month helping out at the school in 2007.
Craig, Vanessa, the charity - You Touch Africa, and the children of Kiraracha village are very grateful for anything you can manage to donate! Thank you!
