I'm proud to be supporting When You Wish Upon A Star by doing an 80' abseil. Even though I faced my greatest fear four years ago by doing a tandem skydive, I still have a morbid fear of heights. I do these crazy things though because I know just how lucky I am. I have healthy children and grandchildren, but sadly some parents have more than their fair share of worry, stress and utter heartache as they live each day knowing not only that their child has a terrible illness, but also that they will possibly lose their child all too soon. This fantastic charity supports these families by granting a special wish to a child that never fails to put a smile on their face, whilst giving them a much-needed break from the daily routine of hospitals and appointments. As Charity Co-ordinator for the Medical Secretaries at Abbeyfields (Nottingham Treatment Centre) I am encouraging all my colleagues, friends and family to take part in this abseil challenge, so we can be proud to say that we helped send some children to Lapland in December to see the real Father Christmas! Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for supporting WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR xx
