Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
The Herefordshire Trail is 154 miles long, and essentially, according to the promotional material links up Herefordshire’s beautiful market towns via scenic routes! I know about these scenic routes having done a few walks before – up hill and down dale! If there is a difficult and strenuous way to do it, then the devisers of the trail will have used it!
Pauline and I have done a few walks now; we started off with plastic bags over our ‘tackies’ – we were that naïve – a good drenching put paid to that, however, and we invested in something more serious!
Two years ago Pauline and I walked Offa’s Dyke – she obtained sponsorship which all went towards Colin’s cause. This year, I am the one seeking sponsorship and would ask for your support of our walk, the proceeds all going towards Spinal Research West Midlands Branch.
This branch was set up by Colin, my son, who was severely injured, 7 years ago when he was 20. His broken neck resulted in paralysis for life. But determined not to let tetraplegia stand in his way, he planned and executed a Cross Africa Expedition of which he drove the 22,000 kms in an adapted Land Rover.
His latest ‘drive’ in life is to raise as much money as he can for the research into the repair of the spinal cord. I share his passion and his mission; his determination and fortitude and ability to deal with the adversity in his life give me goals to aspire to, and this my latest is the arduous traverse, all 154 miles of it, around Herefordshire. Please support me and thus the latest research into the repair of the spinal cord.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Spinal Research West Midlands Branch will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
