I have worked at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission for 9 months now and it's not just a job for me, it's a passion.
For those of you that know me, and I mean really know me, you know why.
I know many people who have been effected by homelessness and addiction, my family included. I grew up in a large family, 1 of 7 children, that struggled constantly. We were always on the move and rarely in a stable environment.
I've thought of myself as lucky in a way though. I always knew things would be okay because I had my siblings and best friends to rely on through the good and bad, and they relied on me.
There is so much more to my story and why God brought me here, but I'm just giving you a glimpse. I'm giving you a glimpse because that's all we see for those who rely on places like the Las Vegas Rescue Mission for shelter, food, clothing, and so much more.
There are an estimated 13,871 people who will experience homelessness in Southern Nevada this year, struggling to find their way... and while I never ended up completely homeless, it was never a far stretch to think we could be.
So please, make a donation. If we unite as one and work together - we can make a difference in the lives of those struggling every day in our community.
