Story
Every year I sit down to watch The London Marathon on television and always wonder what it would be like to take part...well now I'm about to find out!! Family and friends suggested that I had lost the plot when I told them that, in my "Big Year", I planned to run the Marathon. However, the idea to make my 60th year one to remember made me determined to challenge myself and I guess there's no bigger challenge than taking part in this year's 40th Marathon race.
I am very honoured and excited to be running on behalf of the amazing charity "Against Breast Cancer". Anyone who has been touched by breast cancer, either personally or through a friend or relative will know what a devastating experience it is and it's obviously a cause which is very close and personal to me.
Through the work of charities like "Against Breast Cancer" huge strides are being made to both diagnose, treat and most importantly prevent breast cancer. Your support can only help to win the battle against this awful disease.
So, the hard work has started and my training is fully underway. It's really starting to hit home just how long and arduous 26.2 miles is going to be (I feel the 0.2 miles is going to be the easy bit!) but I am determined that I will complete it come what may.
I would just like to say a huge big thank you in advance for your donation, it really means a lot to me and the thought of your support inspires me to get out of the house for those long Sunday morning training runs!! Wish me luck!!
My page donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity. Let's do this!
