Story
I just know the Olympics is going to be responsible for causing a lot of pain! It has been truly inspirational to watch from the comfort of my sofa, but decided I should really get off my backside and take part in something active and worthwhile, the London Bikeathon. I would like to dedicate it to the memory of my great Dad, Percival Charles Grimble.
He lead a full and active life before Leukaemia took him in 1986 at the age of 81 years. He cycled extensively in his youth throughout the UK and Europe, and after a short break to raise myself and 6 others, he decided to celebrate his 70th birthday with a ride around the Isle of Wight, which he completed in one day on what would be called a bone shaker nowadays! His only comment at the end of the ride was that he felt fine but a little thirsty!
So being 15 years younger than he was for his epic ride, I will try and do my best for the London Bikeathon. I do quite abit of mountain biking, but this will really be my first long road experience.
