Story
We are on a mission to support the British Heart Foundation after our beloved daughter, Valentina, was diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Defect in 2016. Until recently, this condition would have been considered untreatable, but thanks to the advances in medical research, Valentina received the life-saving interventions that she needed to thrive.
At just one year old, Valentina was diagnosed with Pulmonary Atresia with VSD, which is one of the most challenging heart conditions to treat. We are so grateful to report that Valentina is now seven years old and doing well, but her journey has not been easy. After her first intervention, Valentina experienced a cardiac arrest and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a result. After numerous surgeries and procedures, we were told by the hospital looking after her at the time, that there was nothing else they could do and the only further assistance they could offer would be Palliative Care.
We sought a second opinion at Great Ormond Street in London, and they had a different perspective. Valentina underwent several open heart surgeries and procedures before finally receiving the corrective surgery she needed in 2019. However, we know that Valentina will require further surgeries and interventions as she continues to grow and develop.
We are forever grateful for the tireless research and groundbreaking interventions provided by the British Heart Foundation. We are now seeking your support in raising funds for the British Heart Foundation so that others in our position can receive the same level of care and treatment that Valentina has benefited from.
No donation is too small, and any support you can offer is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion.
