Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving Page.
Vale Royal Crematorium opened in 2014 and it was immediately
clear that St Luke’s Hospice was incredibly important to the local community. Since then, Vale Royal Crematorium has donated over £20k to St Luke’s through the metal recycling scheme and fundraising. This year, Site Manager David Haslam and Crematorium Assistant Sophie Scott will be taking on an adventure filled challenge to raise even more money for St Luke’s Hospice!
St Luke’s do incredible work to support those being effected
by illness, those on palliative care and their families through their family support and counselling team. This is a cause that is close to both David and Sophie’s hearts and something they wanted to support by completing further fundraising. On the 18th of September 2021, Dave and Sophie will be taking on a two day adrenaline challenge which will include abseiling, canyoning, cliff jumping, scrambling and a Tyrolean Zipwire; massively pushing both out of their comfort zones to raise money for this amazing cause.
Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
Please help our team to reach the target of £1000 for this incredible charity. Thank you for your support.
