Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those of you who know me well will know that I'm not the fittest person out there, so taking part in the Ten Tors challenge is going to be just that - a real challenge. I'm 'in training' and have the blisters to prove it, but will hopefully have a bit more stamina when the actual weekend of the challenge dawns. Onwards and, er, upwards....
Update Sunday 13 September, 10.27pm : I DID IT! It nearly killed me, but I damned well did it! I have to say that it was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life - and yes, it beat even childbirth as my longest labour only lasted 6 hours, and yesterday we trekked for 11.5 hours over very, very difficult terrain - bogs, boulders, 'babies heads', rivers...not to mention ascending the tors themselves. I have blisters on my blisters, my knees are probably wrecked for life, my lips are sore from the sun and my hands are painful from constantly gripping my walking poles. Am I glad I did it? Yes, of course I am - elated, in fact. Would I do it again? NEVER!!!!! Thank you so much to everyone who supported me personally. The event collectively raised £44,000 - staggering! - which has been matched by St. James's Place so that a stupendous £88,000 will go to the SJP Foundation.
