Story
Hello all.. When my wife passed away from brain cancer just over four years ago, I promised myself to raise money for three charities who played a big part in her life after diagnosis - The Brain Tumour Charity, The Royal Marsden Charity and St Raphael's Hospice. Having raised money for the first two, I am seeking your help in raising as much money as we can for St Raphaels Hospice.
I am proud to be running for this charity who cared for my wife and our family during the most difficult time of our lives. The work they do is so selfless and the charity workers give up their personal time to keep the hospice going. My two daughters and I will forever be grateful to them.
The Hospice needs a huge £6 million a year to run! Unfortunately they receive only 20% NHS funding and therefore the remaining 80% (or close to £5 million) relies purely on fundraising and donations which is why I want to raise as much money as I possibly can!
Although I can never thank them enough I have decided to do the London Marathon and fundraise to support St Raphael’s so that they can continue to give the expert care and kindness to others.
I would be so incredibly grateful for any donation you can give, no amount is too small (but if we could smash my £4000 target then that would be amazing!!!).
Fun fact - I never ran (well, apart from running to the station to catch the train!) until I decided to raise money for these three wonderful charities. Just goes on to show what we all can achieve with a little bit of encouragement, the right motivation and love.
Thanks in advance!
