Story
At Wimbledon 2010 John Isner and Nicolas Mahut set the record for the longest tennis match ever, playing for a total of a staggering 11 hours and 5 minutes over 3 days. On Sunday 12th March we are aiming to recreate this, but in only 1 day! At the same time raising funds and awareness for York Mind, a local mental health charity.
However we won't be alone, we will be making teams and playing doubles throughout the challenge, and want to invite you to take the court with us! To be part of either Team Zac or Team Greg make a donation (suggested £5 minimum) to the cause, leaving your name, then drop one of us a message, to confirm a time slot!
Don't fancy playing? Then please still donate! Your support is vital to us so whatever you can spare is greatly appreciated. Although affiliated to the national Mind charity, York Mind operates independently, raising their own funds and operating within the local area, and need our support. One in four people will experience a mental health problem and York Mind believe that no one should have to face this alone. Just £10 pays for the cost of a volunteer for one week! So please give whatever you can, as we embark on this mammoth challenge.
Please come down and support us! As you may know, we can barely manage 1 hour of tennis so 11 hours is going to be a huge challenge, we will also be doing a raffle and other events to raise money during the day! As well as having a few famous faces from around the university show off their skills...
