Pandemics. Climate change. Inequity. Recession. Division. The road ahead – for ourselves and our young people – is paved with challenges unfolding at ever-increasing speed and with far-reaching consequences.

Solving these challenges requires us to think and act as a global collective. It requires a diversity of thought that can only be achieved through global representation. We need to ensure the world’s future change-makers have a seat at the proverbial table. But for millions of young people around the world, the path to that table is out of reach.

UWC Adriatic Dares to Change That.

The US Philanthropist Shelby Davis has challenged us, and other UWCs, to fundraise more scholarships. For his last challenge in 2018 UWC Adriatic successfully unlocked an additional 1 million USD from Shelby, due to the contributions of alumni and friends. Now Shelby has promised he will match every scholarship raised for 2022 entry with an additional scholarship for 2023 entry. 

Across the course of the 2 Reunion weekends this summer we are looking to fundraise €46,000 to fund a full scholarship for Fikreab, an incoming student from Ethiopia.

We have already raised over 19.000€ wich is 40% of our total goal, but now we need your help to fund the rest of the scholarship.

Then the money will then be eligible for 1:1 matching by UWC Patron Shelby Davis, meaning your support will enable another student to come to Duino in August 2023!
