Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I need your help to raise some money for the Rohingya people.
The Rohingya are facing ongoing military crackdown by the Myanmar Army and Police. The old, the sick, the injured, the women or the children are not spared. Access to the affected areas is either completely blocked or extremely difficult. As a result an estimated 6,55,000 Rohingya people have fled and are trying hard to survive without any humanitarian assistance. Among these are 340,000 children who are living in squalid conditions in Bangladeshi camps where they lack food, clean water and health care.
The Unity Flotilla, which unites a number of UK and international charities, will set sail from Malaysia to the Bangladesh-Burma border in January. The aims of the flotilla are; to deliver humanitarian aid (food, clothing, medicine, personal needs and clean water) to the affected people and to appeal to the Myanmar government to open access for humanitarian aid to the victims.
Together, we can attract the world to deliver urgent aid to the victims of the Rohingya. We can bring the world’s attention and focus to the plight of the Rohingya people both within Rakhine State of Myanmar and outside of Myanmar.
