With daylight hours being against us, we haven’t had as much time as we would have liked to fund raise and make people aware of the reasons for why we are taking on this challenge.

In January this year Scott’s father Graham Barrett lost his fight to lung cancer at the early age of 50. He was a very caring, generous and patient man who was loved by many and will be sorely missed. He fought very hard against the illness and tried to stay as positive as possible through his treatment showing the strength of character that typified him in all aspects of his life.

Taking on this challenge with such little time to prepare has not been without its difficulties, but by following the examples of determination, grit and positivity that Graham always readily displayed as well as support of friends and family and the motivation gained from fundraising we’re aiming to complete the national 3 peaks challenge within a 24 hour window on the 19^th/20^th September 2015.

Fundraising for the Stepping Stones Appeal seemed the obvious choice as they assisted Graham through his treatment and specialize in supporting research into lung cancer which is the most common cause of cancer death in England and Wales.

A huge thank you to everybody who has already donated with such generosity and if you haven’t already, please remember every little amount makes a huge difference.
