Story

Upton House School in Windsor, Berkshire is proud to release a song entitled "A Brand New Start" written by their Head of Music, Craig McEvoy.

The song reflects on our transition through the pandemic, a desire to leave difficult times behind us, and the promise of a brighter future once all of the restrictions have been lifted. All children (aged 2-11 years) and staff in the school contribute to the song.

All donations and proceeds from the song will be given to the NHS. We hope to raise £10,000 for Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, to improve the wellbeing services and facilities in the children’s ward.

The money will also support the children of front-line workers who have been significantly affected by their parents’ dedication to the NHS during the pandemic, mainly through improvements to the onsite nursery.

"A Brand New Start" has been a year in the making and has been written to remember what we, as a country, have gone through, and the specific impact that the pandemic has had, and will continue to have, on our children.

The song hopes to provide an outlet for children to start talking about their emotions and experiences throughout the pandemic and support their wellbeing.
