Charity walk in memory of Aaron Joseph Unsworth and to raise funds for PAPYRUS Prevention Of Young Suicide.
On 18th October 2020 a group of family and friends are doing a walk up Ingleborough in Yorkshire the reasons mentioned above. The group comprises of a few experienced walkers and others with little or no experience.
Aaron was a gentle quiet person who really loved nature and the outdoors. He cared for everything with a passion and literally would not hurt a fly. Aaron has two wonderful children, Niamh and Damian. Aaron actively encouraged Niamh and Damian to appreciate nature and care for all forms of life.
Aaron had a history of mental health issues and really struggled for a number of years. Although seeking help he still struggled as the help was not consistent enough. Sadly he took his own life on 18th July 2019, aged 28. At the time of his death Niamh was aged 6 and Damian aged 3.
PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK. Every £5 raised can help pay for a life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK. Your donations really are lifesaving, thank you.
