Story
A few weeks ago, the Marie Curie charity box in the Village Cafe, Stanstead Abbotts was stolen, leaving the owner, Jill Lovegrove, distraught.
This is a simple appeal to replace the box. Just bung in 20p, a quid, whatever you can afford.
I firmly believe that it doesn't matter how many thieves are out there, the British public has a generosity of spirit that easily outweighs the impact of the selfish.

If we can raise enough to replace the contents of the box, I'll pass on the details to Jill. Thanks for all your help.
UPDATE: 01 December 2011. Thank you so much to everyone who has given. You are wonderful, generous people and have more than proved me right - that good people still far outweigh the bad.
I took the print-out of this page to the Village Cafe at the weekend (when the total was still £300) and, although Jill was off with 'flu, the staff promised to pass on the details to her. She has since put a new sign up in the window (see the photo).
I would like to pass on her thanks, and I credit each and every one of you for restoring her faith in humanity. I'm going to close the page soon, as it has exceeded its original purpose.
Now off you go and watch It's A Wonderful Life. You see the ending? That's you lot, that is.
Merry Christmas, every one.
