Story

UNITE REP TEAM IN LIVERPOOL stand in solidarity with rough sleepers

Today I am proud to announce that the Unite Rep team in Liverpool will be taking part in this year’s Liverpool Cathedral Sleepout 2019.

The event is being organised by Liverpool Cathedral and the Whitechapel Centre, who are raising money to help those sleeping on the streets of Liverpool by providing them with food, shelter and new skills to help them secure employment.

The Whitechapel Centre is Liverpool’s leading homeless charity, and Liverpool Cathedral helps vulnerable people in our city through its food bank and employability programme, together they play an important role in the life of OUR city by helping those living without a home or living in poverty.

You can read more about the event which is entering into its third year and all the great work that this wonderful charity does in our city via:  https://www.whitechapelcentre.co.uk/

For too long homelessness has plagued the streets of our great city and indeed that of the country. Everyone, regardless of who they are and the set backs that they have encountered in life deserve a place to call home, a place to feel safe, to sleep and to be warm. That is why your Unite Rep Team in Liverpool, Speke, are taking a stand and are helping to raise vital funds for the Whitechapel Centre and Liverpool Cathedral in order to help them continue with their sterling work in helping the most vulnerable people in OUR city. We take solace in the old Irish proverb;

“It is in the shelter of each other that the people live.”

The Sleepout event will be taking place on Friday 5th April 2019 and we will be holding fundraising stalls and events leading up to the Sleepout event itself. We would really appreciate any contribution that you can make, as every little helps.

In Solidarity
