Salaamun 'Alaikum/Peace be upon you all,
We will be taking part in the Cycle2Southend in aid of our brothers and sisters in Yemen. We will be cycling 40 miles from London Stratford to Southend, and for this challenge, we will be collectively fundraising £1000! The money raised will be distributed amongst our brothers and sisters in need in Yemen via Muslim Charity.
Yemen is in the midst of a major crisis. Armed conflict, displacement, famine and disease have meant that 22.2 million people are in desperate need of our help. Brutal conflict in Yemen has left millions of people on the brink of starvation. Many families are having to feed their children boiler leaves. Malnutrition is widespread and clean water scarce. The country has now also been hit by the fastest growing cholera epidemic ever recorded.
UN reports estimate that 130 children under the age of 5 die each day from hunger and disease. A whole family can be fed for a month with £50. We need to pull together and do our best to raise what we can, it is our duty.
"The charity you give will be your shade on the Day of Judgement.! - Prophet Muhammad (saw)
