Unite4 is a fundraising dinner event which is being held to raise money for the countries: Iraq, Burma, Syria and Palestine.
We all know of the difficulties the people of Palestine are facing, more so with the rising number of civilian injuries. Palestine's people are suffering, their hospitals are overflowing and they lack vital medical supplies. It is with this in mind that we decided to raise money to go towards medical aid there.
The crisis in Iraq has been escalating by the day and a multitude of people have been affected by this. Half a million refugees are seeking safety in areas already overflowing with those escaping the Syrian conflict. The money we raise for Iraq will be used specifically for food parcels for these refugees.
The Forgotten Burma. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims (mainly of the ethnic group 'Rohingya') have been displaced due to escalating tensions between the country's Buddhist majority and Muslim minority. They were forced to flee their homes, many fled their country, in search of respite from the fear and violence. To date, the Muslims are still suffering from large-scale inequality in Burma and this is why we are raising money for general aid in Burma, which the charity will use for what it thinks is most needed by those suffering.
The Syrian War had devastating effects on its people with thousands now living as beggars and refugees in neighbouring countries. Food and shelter remains the priority for many civilians there and this is why we are raising money for food and shelter packs in Syria.
The Unite4 event will consist of: live speakers, nasheeed artists, child role-play, live calligraphy, an auction, fundraising, a three course meal, stalls, a bouncy castle and insha’Allah much, much more.
