Story
My story is that I wish to share my close friends story (below) I wanted to do something to support Heather and her family and to support this wonderful charity.
I’d never run any distance before 2018 when three of us formed a drunken plan one night that we could run a half marathon..fast forward 4 years, one half marathon medal given and we are here again, planning a full marathon and wondering how we are actually going to manage it!

Daniel was diagnosed with collagen-related congenital muscular dystrophy at the age of three.
It is a very rare muscle wasting condition which already affects his life extensively, he cannot stand or walk and uses a wheelchair full-time. In the future he is likely to have trouble with spine curvature and breathing, particularly at night, as his muscles weaken.
There is currently no cure or treatment, which is very difficult for us to accept, but MDUK are working hard to change this.
As a family we have already been overwhelmed by friends and relatives completing marathons, challenges and various activities to raise money to help MDUK fund their research, we are so grateful as we can’t do it on our own.
