Story

Donations to this fundraising effort will be specifically given to the Ipswich Radiotherapy Department at Ipswich Hospital (Charity Number 82113)

On the 1st August 2019 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeLeEpB1HXA) I was diagnosed with metastatic oropharyngeal carcinoma (Cancer of the Tonsils). I went on to have 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy and weekly chemotherapy at Ipswich Hospital during September and October, ultimately resulting in my admission to a ward for 4 weeks.

On the 2nd January 2020 I had a PET scan to determine if the cancer had been eradicated from my body, or if it had moved elsewhere. Today (7th January 2020) we got the result that all trace of cancer had disappeared and that I was "All Clear".

To celebrate this result and recognise the truly amazing work the Radiotherapy Team at Ipswich Hospital do, I will be donating some cash through this portal to support improvements to their services and ensure that future patients to the Radiotherapy department get the best possible care.
