From 2017-2018 I was blessed to have the opportunity to volunteer at Crisis supporting homeless members to learn IT skills. In honour of those members I will be participating in #CrisisStayAwake. On Wednesday, 27th April 2022 I will stay up for 24 hours to fundraise for Crisis to help enable more people out of homelessness. The date coincides with one of the most holy nights of the year for Muslims and I will not only stay up the entire 24 hours, but I’ll be fasting approximately 16.5 hours out of those 24 hours.

Over 200,000 households in England are experiencing the worst forms of homelessness including sleeping on our streets, drifting from sofa to sofa or stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation like B&Bs far away from their support networks. That means that on any given night one in 185 people are without a home. That's why I've chosen to Stay Awake with Crisis and I'm taking on 24 hours of fundraising to help end homelessness.
