We help people with a learning disability to live their lives as they choose.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  As many of you know I have been working on building a new Mencap Children & Families Centre for the past 7 years.  It has been a challenging and long journey with lots of disappointments along the way. However, 7 years on construction has started and we hope to open the doors in January 2016 but I need your help to ensure we build the best place for all the amazing families and children with a learning disability, both now and in the future.

The new centre will replace Segal House Nursery which is a specialised early intervention service for 2-4 year olds with a learning disability, severe developmental delay and autism .

Segal house has been open from 1969 and over the years has offered support and services to thousands of children and their families.  It's the only place of its kind in Northern Ireland providing services such as physiotheraphy, occupational therapist and speech and language therapy all under the one roof.

We desperately need a new build and every donation big or small to our 'Big Step Forward Appeal' is a big step towards building and running our new Children and Families Centre.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
