Story
My beloved father, Ranjith Kumar, sadly passed away on 11th February 2021. He was a kidney transplant recipient that lasted for nearly 20 years, an incredible feat.
My father was a big supporter and champion of several charities, especially Kidney Care UK. In the last few years, he had been a dialysis patient, and his health slowly deteriorated until his passing. I wanted to challenge myself to run the London Marathon in his honour.
I am not a runner, and this is an incredibly daunting but exciting opportunity to push myself to the limit and raise money for an incredible charity.
Kidney Care UK is the UK's leading kidney patient support charity, looking to continue to provide practical, financial and emotional support for kidney patients and their families. They continue to campaign to improve kidney patients' care across the UK.
No one could have anticipated the past few years, but despite the isolation COVID-19 restrictions brought, their staff and supporters committed themselves to the challenge. By working with and listening to the kidney community, they could adapt their services to offer support remotely and meet the increase in demand.
I will be doing my tiny bit to help Kidney Care UK reach more families and kidney patients who need their support through tackling kidney disease. By joining their team, I will become a Kidney Warrior and run the marathon in one of their charity tops. We all want to ensure no one faces kidney disease alone, and your generous donations can help us do that.
As a member of the #kidneywarriors team and running on behalf of the charity, I am honoured to raise awareness for the charity and simultaneously push myself to new limits!
My page donations will be sent directly to the charity quickly and securely. It is efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity.
Thank you for your time, support and donations!
Wish me luck!
