Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My name is Umer and I’ll be running the London Marathon this October to raise money and awareness for the National Autistic Society.
Equality and diversity are values I hold strongly both within my businesses and personal life. The National Autistic Society is an exemplary society that tries to create equality for Autistic people.
The challenge
The 26-mile route starts at Blackheath and passes through Greenwich before crossing the Thames over the world-famous Tower Bridge. It then continues through central London, winding around the peaks of Canary Wharf and along Victoria Embankment before finishing on the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.
The charity
The National Autistic Society helps the 700,000 autistic people in the UK and their families. They achieve this by running specialist schools, campaigning for improved rights, or training companies on being more autism-friendly. The charity is dedicated to transforming lives and changing attitudes.
Covid-19 has really affected charities in terms of their funding and I want to use the London Marathon to raise £3,000 for the National Autistic Society. It isn't a lot but hey, every little helps.
