Story
We are raising money for Saint Francis Hospice in loving memory of our mother, Uma Pillai. Our mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer in late October 2022, at the age of 44. As a young, strong women in perfect health, our mum didn't fit the stereotypical demographic of those who are fought against colorectal cancer, an unfortunate fact which made it particularly difficult to diagnose her.
Her condition quickly deteriorated resulting in her first visit to Saint Francis in early 2023, an opportunity which immeasurably improved not only her health but also her spirits. Our mum's second and last visit to Saint Francis Hospice was on the 18th May, following shortly she passed peacefully in her sleep on the 19th.
Our mother's journey was what can only be described as a painful, uphill battle however the unconditional care, love and respect that was given to our mother at Saint Francis was nothing short of invaluable.
Charitable donations are vitally important in allowing for this fantastic institution to remain up and running; providing such excellent care to individuals such as our mother who are given devastating terminal diagnoses.
With your help, Saint Francis Hospice will be able to continue helping families such as mine through extremely difficult times, right until the very end.
As you all may already know our mother was an extraordinary woman with boundless strength and kindness for others and to donate to Saint Francis in her memory would mean a lot to her and us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our mother's story, any donations are greatly appreciated.
From,
Maya and Vinay
