Story
My daughter, Isla, has Autism. She was diagnosed when she was two. Since then it has been a steep learning curve with many obstacles to overcome.
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. One in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.
I decided that in 2022 I would raise money to help a charity working to raise awareness of Autism and support those affected. That charity is the National Autistic Society.
They provide support, guidance and advice, as well as campaigning for improved rights, services and opportunities to help create a society that works for autistic people.
To raise awareness and funds I will be running a series of Ultra Marathons including:
FEB: The Pilgrim Challenge - 66 miles over two days DONE
FEB: Greensand Ultra - 50km CANCELLED due to Storm Eunice
MAR: Brecon Beacons & Black Mountains Trails DONE
MAR: Lulworth Cove Trail Running Challenge - 34 miles DONE
