Story
When I met Dorothy Dix I was mesmerized by her gravitas, positivity and confidence, so it was only a matter of time to fundraise for her charity - Creating Better Futures (CBF), that focuses on empowering orphans and vulnerable children of Zimbabwe through Education.
They believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and giving children the opportunity of a better future for themselves and their communities. However, they also recognise that there are supporting factors, which if absent, could reduce the chance of those children excelling in education. With that in mind they provide projects to not only support education, but also remove barriers that prevent children regularly attending and actively participating in school.
As I have postponed my Snowdonia Marathon till 2019 due to lack of proper training required, decided to run 2 half marathon distance races instead in support of this wonderful charity.
UPDATE: after successful completion of Marlow half on the 4th Nov 2018, I decided to continue fundraising for #CBF and signed up for the Winter Trail series with 3 races, some of you might be familiar with - Muddy Welly, Mapledurham 10, Gut Buster, taking place on the 31st Dec. Last day of 2018 to create a better future for someone! :)

Through education, they are creating better futures! :)
By the way - I am sitting with Dorothy at the softplay with our kids (see the photo!), and she is telling me some fascinating statistics you may want to be aware of before making a decision how much you want to sponsor me:
- £5 will buy a school uniform for 1 child
- £10 will buy books and stationery for 1 child
- £30 will buy a pack of reusable sanitary products for girls
-£50 will feed a classroom of 50 children
-£100 will provide clean water filter for a family.
... shocking, isn't it... (...).
Thank you in advance for all your support,
FROM UlaSuperConnector & Dorothy Dix.
