Story
Please help us raise money for Action For Kids, who help empower young disabled people and promote an independent lifestyle by providing eployment and training opportunities, as well as mobility equipment not avalable on the NHS.
On Tuesday 19th July from 5.30-8.30pm we are running a one-off footvolley tournament and exhibition matches on the temporary beach at Canary Wharf, London.
Top England footvolley players will team up with exhibition professionals against Brazilian footvolley players with bankers, to see who will be crowned kings of the beach.
Public try-out sessions and competitions will also be on offer. So if you work in Canary Wharf please come down to check out the footvolley. Footvolley, basically beach volleyball played with football rules, originated on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro in the 1960s.
The English players taking part include the 2016 UK Champion - Gary Titley, who will be travelling to Rio next month to take part in a World Footvolley Tournament which takes place from 22-28 August in the Olympic Beach Volleyball Stadium on Copacabana beach. The Tournament will include 20 countries and is organised by footvolley aficionado and footballing legend Romario who captained Brazil to win the World Cup, and is now a respected Senator in Brazil.
Whoever wins tomorrow, the main thing is that we will be able to raise money for Action For Kids.
So please help and give what you can. Doing it through Just Giving means the money goes direct to the charity, and is super simple and secure.
Thank you so much!
