Story
Summer 2022 will see the King George Playing Fields being redeveloped.
As players, parents or supporters of Horsforth St Margaret’s Football Club we are being asked to help raise £30,000.
As one of the bigger age group, who we use these pitches in the years to come, we aim to raise a total of over £3000.
Inspired by the Men’s Open Age Team who will complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks, all 100+ of our Horsforth St Margaret's Teams, from Dribblers to Open Age, are being asked to complete their own 'Peaks Challenge' on the weekend of 25th/26th June 2022.
The U7's: the Chargers, Colts, Hunters, Hurricanes, Mustangs, Pegasus, Rangers, Stallions, Thunder, Tornadoes and Typhoons: will be taking on one of our Peaks Challenge: Whernside (June 25th) or The Chevin Climb (June 26th)! (Or even both if they fancy!)
Both events will be a challenge for this young age group of 6 and 7 year olds, and will hopefully create a fun team-building opportunity to raise needed funds.
This fundraising is crucial to the completion of the project and will be used alongside grants secured by the club to cover the considerable costs of the work.
The work will transform football at our club, giving us more pitches, that are flat, well drained, maintained, fenced, playable throughout the year and available for training.
The redevelopment will benefit all teams from Dribblers through to Open Age, and compliment the fantastic facilities we already have at our clubhouse, Horsforth Sports Club.
