844 Million people don't have access to sanitary water close to home.
Every 2 minutes a child dies due to infection caused by lack of clean water
2.3 Billion people do not have a decent toilet.
For over ten years, the Ali Asghar Water Appeal has strived to provide better access to water for many water-scarce communities. This year, we aim to further build long-term sustainable across communities in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Palestine and Kenya.
Allhamdulliah, last year our sportive was a success! We smashed our target of £72,000 as a community - A target unachievable without your unwavering support to this honourable cause. WF Aid successfully built a desalination plant in Gaza, Palestine, which is powered by solar panels. Today this plant is used by upwards of 20,000 people each month, including emergency services, showing you the impact your donations made.
This year, the sportive will take us on a 100-Kilometers adventure, starting at our Hujjjat centre in Stanmore, following the iconic Palace to Palace route to Buckingham Palace, through scenic Surrey and on to Hampton court. Our target this year is £72,000, a target I'm sure with your help, Inshallah, we will smash.
