Story

Hello Everyone
In a effort to raise money for some very worthy causes I will be cycling back with members of my team from various air shows around the UK, starting with Southend Airshow. Each route is approximately 150-180 miles and we are aiming to complete the distance in 24-36 hrs. It won't take the jet that long to get back!
If you are at any of the airshows where Typhoon is participating then look out for the Typhoon Display Tent. The Team, including myself,  will be there to talk about the Typhoon, the RAF and to answer any questions you may have. If you would like to make a donation in person that would be very much appreciated. 100% of any money received by the Display Team goes to our charities which are The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, The Royal Air Force Association and The National Society for Phenylketonuria. If you would like to donate to a specific charity then please let us know (for Justgiving mention it in the comments) and we will make sure that your donation goes to the charity of your choice.
Thank you and I look forward to meeting many of you during the Display Season

**UPDATE**

Typhoon Charity Cycle Ride: to RAF Coningsby

I and a small team from 29 (R) Sqn have just returned from the 180 mile cycle ride from the “Festival of the Air” where the Typhoon was displaying on the Sunday and Monday.

The start of the ride was delayed until midday on Tuesday due to very heavy rain at Southend which along with a strong headwind all day meant that it was tough going. We rode for 81/2 hours and covered 110 miles but due to the strong wind (and a bridge which was shut at the end of a very long road!) we were not able to get to our planned overnight stop at RAF Marham before nightfall. We hastily arranged some B and B accommodation and after raiding the fruit bowl and a jar of boiled sweet on the reception desk we settled down for a well deserved nights sleep.

On Wednesday it was raining (deep joy!) but at least the wind was mostly behind us and we made much quicker progress over the remaining 65 miles to Coningsby. We arrived back on 29 Squadron at 2:30pm.

The next leg of our challenge is returning from the RAF Cosford Airshow (14 Jun) and is 135 miles. I'll let you know how we get on!

Thanks again for all your support.

Scott
