The Twin Town Challenge 2020+2 will be kicking off Friday 29th April and this page is the hub for all of the incredible fundraising that has taken place for this event!

Story

Sumo Group will be hitting the road next month for the SpecialEffect Twin Town challenge, travelling from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire to Le Touquet in Northern France to raise money for this incredible charity.

Each team is challenged to buy and decorate a pre-loved car and then make the almost 350-kilometre journey. Along the way, teams take on challenges and circuit laps to race to the finish line.

The Sumo Group car for 2022 will have an Elvis Presley theme in tribute to our much-loved colleague, Ian Richardson.

As well as the Car team, there'll be a team of cyclists on a 175-mile journey from SpecialEffect HQ in Witney to the Channel Tunnel via London. Once in France, Art Director David will then – supported by Sumo Sheffield VFX Artist Lee Taylor - begin a 52-mile ultramarathon from Calais to Le Touquet to meet the team.

SpecialEffect is a charity that puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games and communicate using technology.

The Twin Town Challenge 2022 will take place from 29th April – 2nd May.

You can keep up to date with the Twin Town challenge by following @SpecialEffect or visiting the website.
