Rainbow Boxes Appeal
Campaign by Rainbow Boxes (RCN SC050071)
Raising money to help supply Rainbow Boxes to Hospital wards throughout the Lothian Region, providing essential items to patients when families can't

Story

Matthew and Angus (our 10 year old twins) have decided they
would like to do something to help during the COVID-19 epidemic, so they have
organised a sponsored walk in the Pentlands on 20th June. The intention is to
walk about 8 miles (weather and blisters permitting!) from  Scaldlaw to
Torphin which will take us around four of the reservoirs which serve Edinburgh.

The aim is to raise £100 for Rainbow Boxes (www.rainbowboxes.org), which is a brilliant charity set up by a George Watson’s mum, Alison Williams (a Senior Research Nurse at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary). Rainbow Boxes helps COVID-19 and other patients who are admitted to hospital with little or no basic necessities, or any means of contacting or seeing family and friends. There are Rainbow Boxes in hospital wards throughout Lothian and West Lothian, providing patients with
basic toiletries, nightwear and phone chargers.

If you were able to sponsor Matthew and Angus, they’d be so
grateful for helping them support this amazing charity.

Thank you, Susie & Mark

We’re providing essential items to help make patients more comfortable, as visitors are not allowed on the ward. Boxes will be provided to wards in Scotland, providing patients who are separated from families with essential items they may not have.
