Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page.
In September, Alex and I will be taking part in our first half marathon- the Great North Run 2017- in aid of the Tuberous Sclerosis Association.
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex is a genetic condition that can lead to the growth of tumours in various organs of the body. The impact of TSC can vary considerably; some people may not even know they have it where others can be more significantly affected.
The TSA provides vital support to families affected by TSC across the UK, and is a charity close to our hearts given our sister Lucy was diagnosed with TSC as a child. We have personal experience of the many problems which TSC can bring and so we know just how important the TSA, and the funding which they receive, is.
There have recently been advances in the understanding of TSC and its causes, however for the estimated one million people worldwide who, like Lucy, live with the condition, there is still no cure. Every donation will help the TSA to fund research into this potentially devastating condition, so thank you to everyone who pledges some money!
