Story
About 13 years ago, we were among the first members of Manchester Frontrunners, part of a worldwide network of running clubs for LGBT+ people and their friends. Over the years we have learned of the great work George House Trust does, as it has been associated with a number of running events involving Manchester Frontrunners.
We are now running our 100th marathon, having started running them in 2005, encouraged by Manchester Frontrunners and Yorkshire Knavesmire Harriers in York where we live most of the time we are not in Manchester. We wanted to mark the occasion by raising a little money for the work of GHT.
Our 100th marathon is on David's 60th birthday! It is the Twilight Marathon at Redbridge Cycling Centre, Hainault, London on 28th July. We are starting at 10.00am for the marathon (the start of the ultra race) rather than at twilight. Some supporters are starting the half marathon at 1230 so we should all finish around 2.30 to 3.00 in the afternoon to start birthday celebrations (hopefully cheered on by one or two supporters as this is a marathon on a 2 mile circuit and we will be passing them frequently. If anyone would like to join us for the marathon or half marathon let us know!
