Story
When I was 15 years old I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. After several months undergoing chemotherapy treatment at hospitals in Birmingham and Stoke, I was referred to Make-A-Wish by one of my nurses.
My parents tried desperately to keep family life as normal as possible for me and my sister Emma, but we did become a little bit broken. Make-A-Wish sent us on an amazing holiday to the Mediterranean which gave us some much needed time to put ourselves back together, have some life changing moments and create some memories that will stay with us forever.
On 7th September I will be hosting a party for family and friends to celebrate being in remission for 20 years. I will also be taking the opportunity to fundraise for Make-A-Wish, as a thank you for what they did for me and my family.
Many of you who can't make it to the party have asked if you can make a donation instead - so please feel free to do that here.
Thank you so much for your support! Nikki x x x x
