Having been volunteered to run the Anna Verrico Half Marathon by a well-meaning(?) colleague and only finding out that I was down to run 27 days before the race, it's about time I started training...and raising money for this really worthwhile charity.

Please give generously in the knowledge that I'm really going to struggle to get through this - the 13.109375 mile distance is more than twice the furthest distance Ive ever run before (10km...which I've run a total of once). Given that I have only a short timeframe to train, I'm just hoping to get round so don't be expecting a good time.

After the tragic passing of Anna Verrico, my friend and colleague Paul Verrico set up the TeamVerrico registered charity with the following aims:

- To support research into new treatments and ways of diagnosing responses to treatment of cancer, especially Triple Negative breast cancer, as well as supporting research into the challenges faced by long term survivors of the disease as a result of the physical and psychological consequences of the diagnosis and treatments. 

- To promote and protect the physical and mental health of sufferers and their families of particularly lethal medical conditions, especially Triple Negative breast cancer, in England and Wales through the provision of financial assistance, support and practical advice.

- To advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to the Triple Negative breast cancer condition.
