Great North Run 2022 · 11 September 2022 ·
MND is a neurological condition which progressively takes away your ability to use your limbs, to speak your words, to swallow your food, and ultimately, to breath the air.
Our brother and uncle Dean was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease
(MND) in 2020. This was shattering news to family and friends.
Dean has been strong and active all his life whether it's playing football, running marathons, surfing, sailing or extracting teeth and so a diagnosis of MND before his 50th birthday felt impossible to comprehend.
Dean is Dad to 4 and husband to 1 and he is still leading the family by fund-raising for MND himself and taking each day on it's own terms.
We continue to raise money to fight this disease and help those with it. There is hope for the near future that there may be a cure in our lifetime, that fewer families will ever face this diagnosis.
Richard, Sam and Aidan (Turbo Team) will undertake a variety of speed and endurance running challenges to raise money in furtherance of this hope, starting with our 10 x 10 Challenge and finishing with the 2022 Great North Run.
Please join us in our efforts with your small or huge donations, words of encouragement and witty remarks! It will really mean a lot to us on this path.
All donations will go directly to MNDA who provide care, support and fund research into a cure. Even a small contribution will help others who will face this disease in the future.
