Story

Hi,
A big thanks to all who have supported us in our swim for Aspire.
We have really enjoyed it (mostly!!) Our swimming has improved no end and we are continuing to swim after this event which is a bonus.
We completed the event on the 7th of November with a big swim at the end to get it all in.
It's been fun.
Thanks to all who have supported us.
Sarah & Gary.
Update.
10/10/08.
Hi,
All's well so far, our swimming is improving, Sarah must have been a fish in a past life! I am just managing not to drown!
So far:
Sarah has completed 384 lengths (6 miles) leaving a mere 1032 lenghts to do!
Gary has completed 404 lenghts (6 + miles) leaving 1012 lenghts to do!
We have just over 8 weeks left to complete and in the middle of that we are racing our first half marathon in Cornwall on the 19th of October so we'll be taming our fins for a week to recover.
As long as we keep to 2 miles a week with two of those weeks having a three miles swimming we will remain on target.
A BIG Thank you to all who have donated so far. We have money tins in various places collecting small change and lots of people are kindly sponsoring us on our sponsor forms.
Got to go, got some swimming to do!

We're off again on another crazy campaign. We have decided to swim the CHANNEL!

Yep, all 22 miles of it.

Only, not with the sharks, wales and sewage that floats about in the sea whilst covered in lard, were doing it in our local pool. Starting on the 15th of September 2008 we have until the 7th of December to complete the whole 22 miles, thats 1416 (25m) lengths of the Charnwood Leisure Centre pool. That's roughly 2 miles per week.

We are doing this because:

We are not very good swimmers....(Sarah swims like a brick) (ha i is the better swimmer he just jealous!!!!)

Gary smokes too much......(I have now quit!!)

It sounds painful......

Gary's got new armbands and matching goggles......

Sarah loves seeing speedo's.......(I don't have any.......!)

Its for a good cause...............
