Story
Want to join me in supporting a fabulous cause?
I’m looking for as many sign ups from my male buddies to join my husband Mitchell and my friend Darren Dorrington from the MKFM show, to walk the first 7-mile Men’s MK Midday Moo on Saturday 22nd June!
How have we got ourselves in this situation? It all started one sunny morning whilst at home listening to the MK Breakfast show with Darren Dorrington & Lia Christodoulo when Lia announced she had signed Darren up to his own challenge to walk the first Men’s MK Midday moo.
On hearing this, (and trying not to laugh out loud or choke on my cereal) I decided to text Darren to say I’d be the first to happily donate £50 to Willen Hospice if he was to complete his challenge. The following morning I received a surprise call from Lia, and live on radio, I decided to up my offer to £100. Within an hour further pledges came in and £600 had been donated from listeners to ensure Darren walked the seven mile route. I then signed my hubby up too.
So this got me thinking.......why not set up a collective fundraising page which my friends could share with their friends and family and have one main fundraising page which everyone can donate to?
And tada, here it is - and I would love you guys all to help me support this fantastic charity. All you will need to do is share my page and get as many sign ups as possible and hopefully friends & family will dig deep and donate pennies to my (TTandFriends) fundraising page. Wouldn’t it be fab to reach the target or more?
Willen Hospice is an exceptional charity, and like many residents in Milton Keynes, it holds a special place in my heart. It was at Willen Hospice where my lovely Nonno (Italian for Grandad) and our dear friend & Godparent to my son Jack were cared for, ensuring their last few weeks with us were comfortable as possible. The nurses and volunteers that work there are just amazing human beings, showing so much compassion, commitment and passion in all that they do. As a family we felt valued and supported, nothing was ever too much for them to do, and I would like to continue to support them in any way I can.
So here are the deets peeps...The event will take place on Saturday 22 June, from Willen Hospice to MK Rugby Club in Emerson Valley. It’s 7 miles walk and the route will take in two pub stops along the way - what’s not to like about that! The route will finish at the Rugby Club in Emerson Valley where the The BFF (The Big Food Festival) will be in full swing.
There is a £20 registration fee, this covers the cost of the event and you will receive a finishers t-shirt once you have crossed the line.
