Twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year, The Salvation Army aims to provide care and support to people in need.
In fact, it is what we have tried to do for 138 years in Swadlincote, Newhall, Woodville, and the surrounding area.
We have tried to help people affected by troubles, including anyone feeling hopeless, lonely, afraid, or in need of a friend.
It is what we continue to do today, and it is what we will go on doing whenever and wherever we find need, social injustice, and suffering. We seek to empower people beyond their circumstances.
Together, we offer unconditional love and support, without discrimination. We are a movement of Christians who try to put their love for God and their faith into practice daily. Our donors and supporters- people like you- are as much a part of The Salvation Army as we are.
In this community we have responded to emergency need in the provision of food parcels, Christmas gifts, transport where other resources were absent. We have provided comfort and support to those experiencing bereavement, and those struggling with providing heat and
light to homes with young children and the elderly.
Within our church fellowship we provide services such as a Toddlers group, Lunch Club and Seniors Fellowship, for those who would otherwise be alone. (Sadly, though, at this present time these services are not running due to Covid-19 restrictions), while in our Market Street locations we offer a drop-in service and charity shop; each providing
for those with low incomes, and a safe place to be without judgement or intrusion.
We offer opportunities for individuals to share their abilities, as well as providing an outlet for developing work and social skills.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
