Story
Twenty four hours a day, every day of the year. The Salvation Army provide care and support to people in need. In fact its what we’ve done for over 150 years. It is what we continue to do today and its what we will go on doing whenever and wherever there is injustice and pain in the world.
Street Salvation Army run a foodbank for people in our community who are struggling. We use a referral system from local agencies for access to food parcels (such as Citizens Advice, Job Centre, Health Visitors, Village Agents, Local Schools etc) to ensure that people are getting all of the help that is available that is available to them, but we do take one self referral if necessary to start with. We continue to look at ways to make the foodbank accessible to everyone who needs it.
We’re always very grateful to receive donations for the foodbank as we regularly buy food to stock our shelves, fridge and freezer, plus we buy fresh food from Fare Share each week, and Aldi vouchers each month; all of which ensures we provide an adequate food parcel to those who need it.
A donation of any amount is welcomed, any money you donate on our Just Giving page comes to us directly in Street Salvation Army.
