Trotting with Tom

I count myself so fortunate. I was raised in a loving home with supportive parents, and now have the privilege of raising two kids of my own.
Some of the stories that made the headlines at the end of last year broke my heart. The abuse these innocent children suffered was appalling. It is beyond my comprehension how someone could treat anyone in that way, but particularly a child that looks to us for protection, for comfort, for love.
I couldn't sit back and read these stories and not take action. But who am I to make a change on my own? Only together can we affect real change. That's why I am raising money for the NSPCC, to support their cause of protecting children throughout the UK.
Each week, I will pick a sporting moment, athlete or story, and try and emulate the efforts they went through to achieve their goal. From running the same distance as a Premier League footballer does in a match, to (attempting) training like a CrossFit world champion, nothing is off limits.
If you felt the same as I did when reading those horrific stories - not to mention all the cases that don't make the headlines - then I hope you will consider supporting me and the NSPCC with this daft challenge I am undertaking.
