Thank you Team Walsh and Kothe! You are very generous gentlemen. I will be starting my training in earnest from next week!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Me and some of my colleagues are raising money for the Leisure Programme at the brain injury rehabilitation centre we work at.

A bit of background.... The RNRU is a centre where people come after sustaining a head injury, for up to 6-8 months working hard with all the doctors, nurses and therapists to regain some level of independence and most importantly a greater quality of life.

The Leisure programme is essential to this work, giving people the opportunity to do the activities they used to do as well as try out new ones. From gardening to wii-sports, from going to the cinema or art exhibition to just popping to the shop for the newspaper, these are just some of the activities our leisure co-ordinator works hard to organise and provide.

So we have a long, arduous and gruelling 8 months of training ahead to be able to compete in the London Sprint Triathlon. This is a minor feat compared to what are patients do day in day out, they and their families are an inspiration, so this is the least I can do. Our hope is that our patients' time spent on the RNRU isn't long, arduous and gruelling but fun, full of opportunity and support. We need a total of £20,000 to keep a key member of our team the leisure co-ordinator in post. Please help us!
