We help veterans and their families to live the life they deserve after service

Story

Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds. Your fundraising helps them recover and get on with their lives. So far we've supported more than 25,000 people and won’t stop until every veteran gets the support they deserve.

As an employee of Help for heroes I see first hand every day the difference this charity makes to lives affected through service.

So on the 15 July I will be running the 75 miles (over three days) of the Kennet and Avon canal in a race against a team of walkers who run Bruce's accessible Boats on the canal. They will be setting out 3 days before me and my challenge is to cover the same ground in half the time.

Bruce's boats offer free day trips to veterans and their families through Help for Heroes and help facilitate the work of Help for Heroes supporting veterans in their communities. They also offer chances to volunteer for their organisation.

Who will win the Tortoise or the Hare race?
