Story
The Trafford Tri-er's Team Sheet: Trish Brennan, Kate Chandler, Sarah Griffiths, Fiona Murray, Sandra Rontree, Ness Horner, Alex Wright, Cathy Macleod, Emma de Sousa, Harriet Pearce, Luke Pearce, John Deane, Richard Baggarley, Andy Phillips, and Sally Gordon (sadly withdrawn due to injury) .
With a common desire to push our minds and bodies to their limits and to raise money for Breast Cancer Now, we agreed that the Blenheim Palace Triathlon at the end of May presented as the ideal opportunity to do both.
Training is now becoming very challenging for all of us, and - when combining the swim, cycle, and run - we are discovering the harsh reality of an age old maxim: the whole is far greater than the sum of the individual parts
Although busy with our training we are now keen to start fund raising for Breast Cancer Now. We have chosen this charity because it is focused not only on world class research but also on providing support to those who are living with breast cancer. This is a cause close to our hearts, as we all have friends who have courageously fought this terrible disease, with some sadly losing their battle.
Our chosen charity and challenge is in memory of Lisa and Alice – all taken far too young from their loved ones. We remember them with much love, and gratitude for how they enriched our lives.
We are fundraising across two pages as we have, as a group, nominated two charities to support that are close to our hearts.
The other charity is Alzheimer’s Research Uk in memory of Bryan.
