Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It is with great sadness that I am updating this page as a tribute to Laurence Wright who passed away on 23rd July 2011, aged only 54. Those who knew Laurence are aware of his great love for everyone, his patience and caring for his family and his work. In addition, Laurence was blessed with artistic creation, a couple of his pieces are reproduced here.
Macmillan Cancer Support are first on the scene when a sadness like this hits the family. They have been a great help in the past and once again they are back in our lives to help the family come to terms with the illness; providing advice, assistance and comfort all the way along a tragic route. This valuable support costs money to make available - yet is free for all. It is for this reason they are my charity of choice this year
Anyone can join in the weight loss challenge as well as making a kind donation. Here are my challenges:
My first challenge is to request all friends and colleagues, to help me by not buying me cake or samosas but giving the equivalent amount to the ‘Just Giving’ website.
My second challenge is a ‘Tricycle ‘ ride to work and back – 13 miles – if there is enough financial encouragement to dust off the trike and pump up the tyres (I suspect I will be walking uphill!) on a date to be arranged in the summer holidays.
So what is my financial challenge? To raise £10 for every pound I lose with a target of 70lbs that is 2lbs per week for the remainder of this year.
So please dig deep and donate now.
